NB! 2009 is
'Homecoming Scotland' to mark, amongst other things, the 250th
Anniversary of Robert Burns' birth. Expatriate Scots and their kith and
kin are kindly invited to return to their roots, to revisit the haunts of
their ancestors, rekindle auld alliances, renew friendships and show the
family where their ancestors once dwelt. The programme of Homecoming
events will include the world's biggest ever Clan Gathering in Edinburgh,
the Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the spectacular Open Golf Championship
at Turnberry, and even the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Many more
local initiatives are happening at the local level for that area's Clans.
